Rylee's Birthday

Rylee turned 2 years old on Nov 30th.   I am just now posting but better late than never right...?  We decided to do a small party over Thanksgiving when the family was all together.  We had homemade Cafe Rio and a chocolate peanut butter crockpot cake which turned out pretty good with ice cream on top...mmmm.  But enough about food.  Rylee got a good assortment of presents for her birthday, a doll and some clothes from my parents, some books from my grandparents, some money from my grandma, The Great Mouse Detective DVD, a train set and some dinosaurs from me and Carson, and the beloved Belle the train from Jani, David and the boys.  She also got some Dora books and clothes from Carson's parents and I'm sure I'm forgetting things.  Thank you everybody!  She has really been enjoying her loot, as have I since we are cooped up here in this basement:)  

 After we opened presents we put The Great Mouse Detective on for the little kids and Carson...haha, but seriously.

A little bit about Rylee in her 2nd year....

• She loves to be a big girl and do things all by herself, even when she knows she can't she still has to try before she will let you help her.
• She is very particular, things have to be her idea and she will only wear what she wants to wear unless you coax her.  Reverse psychology is my friend...
• She is funny!  She has a cute personality and likes to make us laugh...but the personality comes out in small groups not in large groups where she doesn't know you as well.
• She is not a cuddler.
• She loves to read books, especially Dora books, dinosaur books, Llama Llama Red Pajama, and her latest everyday favorite, The Little Mouse and the Red Ripe Strawberry.
• Her crazy curly hair (that deserves it's own bullet point).
• Her random love of Desitin (it stays hidden after four times of smearing it everywhere...hence the picture below)

We love our little Rylee!  She is a funny, stubborn girl and it's so true that every kid is different, but we wouldn't have it any other way.  We are so glad she is part of our family!
